Day 29 – A book everyone hated but you liked
I could have talked about the Catcher in the Rye again, because I know a number of people who dislike that book, and I love that one a hell of a lot more… but yeah, not as fun.
Also, this is more of a ‘most people I know hated it’ instead of everyone, because, well, if everyone hated it, it wouldn’t have sold the way it did, and there wouldn’t be hoards of screaming teenage girls fighting over Team Edward or Team Jacob.
I have a lot of problems with Twilight, from the sparkling to the creepy nature of Edward and Bella’s relationship (Let’s face it, it spawned 50 Shades of Grey,) and I have so much fun reading ‘Reasoning with Vampires’, a tumblr account dedicated to finding mistakes in the Twilight series.
However, reading the book, I did enjoy it. It was a fun read. It was cheesy and melodramatic, but then, I can enjoy that at times. I had a guilty pleasure of watching 90210 and Gossip Girls (before they ended anyway.) Sometimes you need a little easy to read and guilty pleasure enjoyment.
It’s not high literature, it won’t go down as groundbreaking or innovative. But, it was fun to read if nothing else.
